CLC Pacific Region Fonds

The fonds documents the activities of the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) Pacific Regional Office. It includes 134 photographs dating from 1953 to 1994, as well as Convention Reports. A significant portion of the materials feature the CLC annual Winter School.

The file list details the contents, starting with photographic materials:

● banquet photos,
● images from historical events such as the First General Board Meeting of the Canadian Labor Congress in Montreal in 1957,
● dam construction projects from 1953.
● Numerous photographs depicting the CLC Winter School in Parksville, BC and later at Harrison Hot Springs, showing participants, instructors like Dan Radford, and classroom settings from the 1960s to the 1990s.
● Prominent figures such as Joe Morris, Robert White, David Rice, Gord Larkin, Ken Georgetti, Glen Clark, and Alexa McDonough are featured in various photographs.
In addition to photographs, the collection contains textual items.
● “Solidarity Student Guides to Survival at the Canadian Labour Congress Harrison Hot Springs Winter School” from 1994, 1995, and 1997, along with course schedules from the same period.
● CLC Pacific Region Winter School cover proofs and 25th-anniversary posters from 1998.
● Correspondence, lists of registrants and members of parliament for the Winter School, newspaper clippings, and issues of “The Mixer” and “CLC Solidarity newsletter”.
● Convention reports of proceedings from the Canadian Labour Congress, spanning from 1956 to 1970, are also included.
● The collection also contains ephemera, such as flags and fabric banners related to the CLC and other unions.
