Christine Micklewright Fonds

Christine Hayvice Micklewright was a vice-president of the BC Federation of Labour, and a member of the Vancouver Industrial Writers Union. She was an officer of the airlines division of the Canadian Auto Workers (CAW). A significant portion of the collection relates to her involvement in a 1992 whistleblowing complaint against Japan Airlines (JAL) concerning the practice of racial profiling of passengers.

Micklewright completed work on a history of a unit of airline workers in Canada in 2021 covering 60 years, 1942-2002, called Arrivals and Departures. The fonds include correspondence within the CAW during 1992, as well as newspaper clippings, research papers, handwritten notes, and union publications from 1992-1998.
