NEW IN 2018: VIRTUAL TOURS (1.5 hours)

Did you miss your chance to join our Vancouver Labour History Walking Tours this season?
Does your group have limitations which make walking tours a challenge?
Or would you simply rather learn while comfortable and warm indoors, instead of braving the Vancouver rain?

We are pleased to offer a new “Virtual Tour” option for groups of 6 – 60+ interested in exploring Vancouver’s rich and diverse labour history.
Our trained volunteer tour guides will come to your location in the Lower Mainland to deliver a 90 minute presentation that takes participants on a virtual walking tour of Vancouver, using photos and videos to tell the stories of each historic site. We request a $10 registration fee for each participant.
Participants will receive a Walking Tour Guide Booklet with their registration.

Please contact walkingtour@labourheritagecentre.ca for more information.

PRIVATE GUIDED TOURS (2 hours) of 5-16 people can be booked anytime. Each guide usually creates a unique tour plan, however feel free to let us know your background or if you have any particular interests/neighbourhood preferences.

Three neighborhood tours are available, each lasting about 2 hours:

  • Downtown (available to groups of 6-16)
Stops include the Marine Building, Bentall Centre, and the Old Hotel Vancouver
  • Central (available to groups of 6-16)
Stops include the Railwayman’s Club, the Labour Temple, and the Sun Tower
  • Eastside (available to groups of 5-6)
Stops include Victory Square, Army & Navy, and Oppenheimer Park

After you book your tour we will contact you to finalize arrangements. Participants are suggested to provide a donation of $10 per person to support our volunteer tour guides. Tour booklets are provided free of charge.

Participants are requested to provide a registration fee of $10 per person to secure a spot. If this fee is a barrier to your attendance due to low or fixed income, we provide the opportunity to waive this fee.

SELF-GUIDED TOURS can be done on your own with our Walking Tour booklet, which can be purchased for $5 per copy at Spartacus Books and People’s Co-op Bookstore; for an order of more than 5 copies, email info@labourheritagecentre.ca.
